I’m super pleased to share some of my favourite images from the last year of family photography sessions.  After many years of primarily photographing weddings, back in 2017, I fell in love with applying the same approach to family life.   I absolutely love capturing the relationships and dynamics of a family. As a parent myself, I know how important it is to document those fleeting, precious moments which day to day are just part of the routine and are very likely to go unnoticed when parenting. This is why I believe capturing those special stories of family life is so important.

Family photography isn’t limited to the spring and summer months – far from it.  How lovely to get togged up on a winters day and have a family outing?!  I’ve photographed on a cold, crisp day on the coast; a foggy morning in Jersey; on a rainy day in the woods, to mention a few contrasts in weather conditions! That’s the beauty of documentary family photography in that I want to give you an authentic memory and real account of you being you so you can just enjoy some time together as a family.  As a family photographer, I will utilise my years worth of knowledge and experience in understanding light, composition and storytelling.  I’ll observe you as a family unit to create a body of work you’ll adore and treasure for always. There’s zero cheese, I promise!

To be invited into the personal space of a family means a lot to me. So, thank you to those where I’ve been able to deliver a slice of life as a series of images.  I’ve enjoyed every moment of capturing the funny, sweet, tender moments between a family; the hilarious facial expressions of young ones, the laughter, drama, chaos, innocence, tantrums – you name it! The every day which is true to you.

I’d be delighted to hear from you if you would like to discuss a family shoot, bespoke to you.

I hope you enjoy viewing my Best Family Photography for 2018.
