I’m really pleased to share some images from a family shoot from a few weeks ago. What a wonderful family, Olly and Kirsty also happen to be friends so it really super to spend some time with them as a family and their gorgeous cherubs, Caleb and Rose! It had been a little while since i’d seen the children and gosh how they’d grown! Both children have very distinct personalities – Caleb has a real sense of fun and mischief and Rose, well, she’s fearless! There’s certainly no being bossed around by her older brother! Olly is a professional photographer, so that’s how we first met and have sinced worked together shooting weddings on a couple of occassions and he’s become a lovely friend. It’s been great to get to know his family too – he must feel super proud! It’s very easy as a photographer to always be the other side of the camera and never actually in the frame!
So, onto the shoot, I followed the family to Thorden Woods near Blean. I can’t believe these woods have escaped me all this time! It’s a brilliant location, especially for children I’d say as there’s so much to explore, learn and interact with. The Kent Wildlife Trust work in partnership with the owners, along with the local and national bodies, to establish and maintain a continuous nature conversation complex – a real living landscape. Wow! How lucky are we to have this on our doorstep.
As the family went about their way exploring and playing, I observed them to freeze a slice in time for them. I just love the children’s spirit and sense of fun – well, Olly and Kirsy’s too! As the light was fading, we headed back to their home where I observed tea time, a bit of play, bedtime prep and a night time story.
I was just blown away when shortly after sending Olly a slideshow of our time together, I received the most delightful family video message thanking me. It was such a pleasure to spend time with you guys and I look forward to following your journey as a family! x
