I first met Collette and Alex in 2013 when we met for their engagement photography session and their subsequent wedding at Mount Ephriam Gardens and celebrations at East Quay in Whitstable. I was delighted when Collette requested a maternity session and thrilled when they asked me to take some personal shots at home with their 10 day old son, Leo.

It’s such a privilage to be able to follow a couple’s journey – from marriage to starting their family. It’s such an incredibly special time when you bring your newborn home – when you’re going through a whole range of emotions, particularly if it’s your first born. What really interests me about newborn photography is the connection between parents and their new baby and being able to capture this in an honest way. I spent just a couple of hours with Collette, Alex and Leo to create some visual memories of of this special time which will likely be bit foggy as life takes over. Being a parent, I speak from experience! Here a few of my favourite images…

Thank you Collette and Alex for inviting me into your home to share this special time – and welcome to Leo! x
