It’s always lovely to hear from couples whose wedding I’ve documented, so I was delighted to hear from Satoko and Matthew, whose home is in Japan. They were planning a trip to the UK to introduce their young daughter to her British family and wanted me to capture in images some of their time together. Satoko had seen the documentary family photography work I’ve been creating and got in touch. It was so lovely to see them after 4 years and catch up!
We’d spoken in brief about their documentary family photo shoot and I’d explained how I wanted them to just to carry on and do what they would normally do as a family. They were staying with Matthew’s parents so it was a lovely opportunity to capture some natural images of them with their granddaughter, for now, and in the future for them all to look back at. Their poodle was also quite the star!
Here is the lovely feedback they gave me…
“We first met Catherine as our wedding photographer. Her pictures were beautiful! I was thinking it would be nice if one day she could capture other milestones of our life, so this family photo shoot was my dream come true! Catherine was great at creating a relaxing atmosphere and recommending different settings to capture various “everyday movements”. Thank you, Catherine!”
