The Kennedy family’s documentary photography shoot – a slice of family life

I’ve known Martin and Yasmin for a number of years now since they commissioned me to photograph their wedding some 6 years ago.  We hit it off from our first meeting and after their engagement shoot at Deal in Kent and subsequent wedding, a special friendship began.  In fact, for a number of years, Yasmin has assisted me at weddings and has become a wonderful photographer.  I was thrilled for them when they announced the birth of their second child, Colby, in September.  They asked me to join them for a morning outing and lunch as they wanted a photography shoot – a slice of family life whilst Colby was still very young.  It had been a little while since I’d seen Nylah, their eldest daughter and she’d changed so much in that short amount of time.   She is so comical and dramatic and certainly knows what she wants!

I’ve put together a selection of my favourite images from our time together…

Thank you, Martin and Yasmin, for entrusting me to give you a slice of your family life and for the lovely feedback you gave me…

“Catherine photographed our wedding and our first family shoot. Now that our family is complete with our second child it was important to have another family shoot. Catherine makes us all feel so comfortable in front of the camera and captures amazing natural images. This is why we will keep going back to Catherine to capture our children as they grow up over the years.
It’s not often we have a family photo so it was a fantastic opportunity to get together and capture those natural images so that we can show our family and friends. We can’t stop looking at the photos and would highly recommend Catherine to everyone. Thank you so much, Catherine”
